Adam's comments are fascinating per say(: I agree with much of what he says, but I would never say school is sian. Everyday is a new day to learn; What we have in classrooms is nothing; if you pause to think about it, we are learning how to answer questions, not ask them. Knowledge, as Adam has put it, can be attained if you want to. School is a time for me to enjoy time with everyone of you. I've never had much of a blood family, thus I've always been grateful for everyone of you(: *sob sob* Also, school is a place to learn life lessons. Although it is kinda sheltered compared with the outside, but we can have out little sim city anyway (: Its these lessons that trumps any numeracy, literacy, science, liberal arts we learned(:
I've never been a big fan of our "institutionalised intellect". It is obvious that we are all here in Hwa Chong because of our inherent gift: intellect. It is a potential we've all been granted, the matter is how we can maximise on it. The structure of the school does not allow us enough room to venture into our own area of interest, thus resulting a lack of willingness sometimes to give it our best. Grit and bear on(: Its just a little while more before we start on our path on to our true destiny.
Adam have mentioned mistakes. It is within human nature to live in denial; sometimes our own sinful pride gets in our way. Pride is the folly that rejects aid when need:( Everything is just a matter of choice. No one can make you do anything without your consent. A lesson is repeated in many forms until you truly learn it. Everyone else is just a mirror to you own soul, they can show you what you lack. The rest is up to the incredible you(: With subunit cooperativity between friends, you can find the strength within yourself to overcome it, become greater in the process.
Freedom is also something I personally do not usually dabble with, for I'm quite unfamiliar with the varying degrees of freedom. But do we all not have the freedom of thought? That is the highest thinking our brain can grant us. I've played a game, 10 years ago, and i've read this useful story in it, think about it, a little food for thought:
"A man lit three candles on a certain day each year. Each candle held symbolic significance: one was for the time that had passed before he was alive; one was for the time of the his life; and one was for time that passed after he had died. Each year the man would stare and watch the candles until they had burned out.
Was the man really watching time go by in any symbolic sense? He thought so. He thought that each flicker of the flame was a moment of time that had passed or one that would pass.At the moment of abstraction, when the man was imagining his life and his existence as a metaphor of the three candles,he was free: not free from rules of conduct or social constraints, but free to understand, to imagine, to make metaphor."
Freedom is limited only by your own mind.
Take a deep breath, Believe you can do more with it than the previous one.
Do you feel free?
Glad to have his internet back,
Hao Tian(:
